Cold Work Steel

Cold work steels are usually used at working temperatures below 200 °C. Typical areas of application are punching and cutting tools for dies and knives, tools for cold forging, embossing and countersinking as well as for thread rolling dies, shear blades and many other applications; advantages include:

  • High wear resistance
  • Sufficient toughness
  • Sufficient fatigue strength
  • Good workability
  • Very good dimensional stability during heat treatment
